Average highs around 29 °C and the longest days of the year. Rain thins out noticeably. Humidity climbs toward month's end, but June rarely reaches August's suffocating heat.
What's on
The students leave and the city changes rhythm. Open-air cinemas and outdoor concerts begin, while the seaside places in Aretsou and Peraia work every day.
What to do
The first month with a swimmable sea. You don't swim in the city itself; you go to Peraia, Agia Triada or Chalkidiki, thirty minutes to an hour away. Sights are best seen early in the morning or after 18:00.
What to pack
Swimwear, sunscreen and a water bottle. The centre has fountains, but the sun at the open monuments is unforgiving.
